This month, the Godless Perverts Book Club is reading The Ebony Exodus Project: Why Some Black Women Are Walking Out on Religion—and Others Should Too, by Candace Gorham.

Candace Gorham is a licensed professional mental health counselor and former ordained minister. In “The Ebony Exodus Project,” Gorham interview several African-American women who have left their churches, and why they feel it was a step away from shame towards happiness and freedom.
